These terms apply when you use Nikfaindar’s name meanings, script spellings and name tools. Meanings and spellings are given in good faith with their sources, but without warranty, and you decide how you use them. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Using the site

• You may use any spelling or decorated form for your own name, profile, channel or family records.
• Do not republish our name entries or tables wholesale on another site.
• Do not use a name to impersonate someone, harass anyone or mock a religion, caste or community.
• Do not run automated tools that overload the site.

Meanings and spellings

Each meaning names its source and the date it was checked. Where sources disagree, both readings are shown. A meaning is a description of how a name is understood in a language, not a statement about any person who carries it. How we choose sources is set out on the about Nikfaindar page.

Religious names

Religious names are explained as etymology and usage only. Nothing on the site is religious instruction or advice on what a family should name a child.

Unicode text

Spellings are Unicode text, not images or fonts. How they look depends on your device and fonts; some apps may show unsupported letters as boxes.

What you send us

Corrections and notes you send may be used to fix a page, without your name. We may refuse or remove any submission.
