Privacy Policy

This privacy policy lists exactly what Nikfaindar processes. In short: the name desk runs in your browser, so the names you type are not sent to our server or stored; server logs are kept for about 10 days; the site has no ads, no Google Analytics and no tracking cookies.

Names you type

The name desk looks names up in a list that is already loaded in your page, and decorated forms are made by your browser. The names you type are not sent to Nikfaindar, not counted and not stored. Copying a spelling uses your browser’s clipboard and sends nothing.

Links to the dictionary

Each name card links to the page of Platts’ dictionary at the Digital Dictionaries of South Asia (University of Chicago). If you open that link, you leave Nikfaindar and that site’s own privacy rules apply.

Fonts

The Nastaliq font used for Urdu is served from our own server, so loading a page does not contact a font service.

Server logs and Cloudflare

Like every website, the server records the IP address, time, page and browser type of each request to keep the site running and block attacks. Logs are rotated and deleted after about 10 days. Nikfaindar is served through Cloudflare, which processes each request, including your IP address, and may set a short-lived security cookie.

Cookies

Nikfaindar sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie you may see is Cloudflare’s security cookie.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete data about you by emailing [email protected]. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner. Who runs the site is explained on the about Nikfaindar page.
